1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of this website (“Site”), the online booking system, and the rental services offered by J3 Rentals Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
1.2 By using our Site or making a booking, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy.
1.3 We may modify these Terms at any time. The updated version will take effect when published on the Site.

2. Eligibility & Use of the Website

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old to access the Site and at least 25 years old to hire a vehicle.
2.2 You confirm that all information provided to us (personal details, driving licence, payment data) is accurate and complete.
2.3 You agree not to use the Site or our services for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

3. Booking Process & Payments

3.1 All vehicle hire requests are subject to availability and confirmation.
3.2 A booking is not confirmed until a rental confirmation email has been issued and any required deposit has been paid.
3.3 You must pay all sums due according to the payment schedule provided at the time of booking.
3.4 We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any booking if we reasonably believe that eligibility requirements are not met or that the booking is fraudulent.

4. Driver Eligibility & Licence Requirements

4.1 Drivers must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age (unless otherwise approved in writing).

  • Hold a full valid UK or EU driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.

  • Have no major endorsements or disqualifications (e.g. DR, IN, TT, DD codes).

4.2 Additional identification (proof of address, passport, or utility bill) may be required before vehicle collection.
4.3 Only named and approved drivers on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle. Unauthorised use will void insurance coverage and result in full liability for damages.

5. Security Deposit

5.1 A refundable security deposit is required before vehicle handover.
5.2 The deposit may be used to cover:

  • Damage or loss

  • Fuel shortfall

  • Excess mileage

  • Fines or penalties

  • Valeting or cleaning fees

  • Late return charges

5.3 Any remaining balance will be refunded within 14 working days after the vehicle is returned and inspected.

6. Vehicle Collection, Condition & Return

6.1 A Vehicle Condition Report will be completed at collection and return.
6.2 You are responsible for checking and agreeing to the condition of the vehicle before leaving our premises.
6.3 The vehicle must be returned:

  • To the agreed location and at the agreed time;

  • With the same fuel level as at collection;

  • In the same condition, allowing for fair wear and tear

6.4 If excessive dirt, smoking residue, or interior damage is found, a cleaning or valeting fee of £150 may be charged.
6.5 Late returns exceeding 30 minutes may incur hourly or daily late fees. Failure to return the vehicle within 24 hours of the agreed time may result in reporting the vehicle as stolen.

7. Use of Vehicle & Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use the vehicle for:

  • Racing, speed testing, or off-road driving;

  • Transporting passengers or goods for hire or reward;

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication impairing ability;

  • Carrying hazardous materials or illegal goods;

  • Allowing unauthorised persons to drive;

  • Taking the vehicle outside the UK without written consent;

  • Any use causing excessive wear, damage, or mechanical strain.

  • Violation of this clause will result in immediate termination of the rental and full liability for any loss, damage, or legal costs.

8. Insurance, Damage & Excess

8.1 All vehicles are insured under a comprehensive insurance policy with a standard excess of £2,000 per incident.
8.2 The renter is responsible for:

  • The insurance excess in the event of any claim;

  • Any damage, loss, or theft not covered by insurance;

  • Tyre, glass, or interior damage caused by negligence.


8.3 If insurance is invalidated due to misuse or breach of these Terms, you will be fully liable for all costs, including repairs, loss of use, towing, and recovery.
8.4 In the event of an accident, you must:

  • Contact the police if required;

  • Notify J3 Rentals immediately;

  • Provide a written accident report within 24 hours.

9. Breakdown & Roadside Assistance

9.1 All vehicles are provided with roadside assistance (e.g., RAC or AA).
9.2 If breakdown results from driver fault (e.g., wrong fuel, key loss, battery drained), the renter may be liable for all recovery and repair costs.
9.3 Replacement vehicles will be provided where possible, but are subject to availability.

10. Fines, Tolls & Penalties

10.1 You are responsible for all:

  • Parking fines, speeding tickets, congestion charges, and tolls incurred during the rental;

  • Any related administration fees (typically £25 per incident) charged by J3 Rentals for processing or redirecting penalties.


10.2 Failure to pay such fines may result in deduction from your security deposit or further recovery action.

11. Cancellation, Refunds & Termination

11.1 Cancellation by You:

  • Over 48 hours before collection: full refund minus a £25 admin fee.

  • Within 48 hours of collection: no refund.

  • No-shows or failure to provide required documents: full fee forfeited.

11.2 Cancellation by Us:

We may cancel bookings due to vehicle unavailability, safety issues, or non-compliance. Refunds will be provided for all pre-payments made.

11.3 Termination During Rental:

We reserve the right to immediately terminate your rental and reclaim the vehicle if:

  • Payment fails or is reversed;

  • The vehicle is misused, damaged, or used unlawfully;

  • False information was provided during booking.

  • No refunds will be issued upon termination for breach.

12. Liability

12.1 We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses (e.g. missed flights, lost earnings, hotel costs).
12.2 Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the booking.
12.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraud.

13. Data Protection & Privacy

13.1 We collect and process personal information in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
13.2 We may collect copies of your licence, identification, address proof, and payment details for insurance and verification.
13.3 Vehicles may be fitted with GPS tracking devices for safety, theft prevention, and monitoring purposes.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control (including strikes, natural disasters, system failures, or government restrictions).

15. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site (logos, text, images, design, trademarks) is owned by J3 Rentals or licensed to us. Reproduction or commercial use is prohibited without written consent.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
